Terms of Service

The deal between us — kept simple.

These terms cover using August. We've written them to be readable, not to trap you. By using August, you agree to what's below.

What August does

August is a research service. You give us your website; we research public sources and hand you a report of companies worth contacting — each with a likely decision-maker, a way to reach them, and a draft message you can send. We also point you to public communities and threads where your buyers are talking.

August helps you find and reach out to potential customers. It doesn't do the outreach for you, and it doesn't guarantee anyone will reply or buy. The relationships are yours to build.

Your account

You can run a free sample without an account. For paid plans and saved reports, you may create an account — keep your login details safe and let us know if you spot any unauthorized use. You're responsible for activity under your account, and you agree to give us accurate information.

Plans, billing, and the fine print on lifetime

  • One-time packs (like Starter and Growth) are a single charge for a single delivery of leads.
  • A weekly refresh is a recurring subscription billed monthly until you cancel — and you can cancel anytime, effective at the end of your current period.
  • The Founder plan is a one-time payment for a recurring weekly delivery. "For life" and "lifetime" mean for as long as August operates the service — not a personal guarantee beyond the life of the product. If we ever wind the service down, we'll give Founders fair notice.
  • Prices are shown before you pay, and you authorize us (through Stripe) to charge the amount and cadence shown at checkout.

Our money-back guarantee

We stand behind the work. If a pack you bought doesn't surface at least one company you'd genuinely want to contact, email us and we'll refund you — no interrogation, no hard feelings. For subscriptions, you can cancel anytime and you won't be billed for the next period.

Using August responsibly

This is the important part. August gives you contacts and drafts — how you use them is on you. When you reach out, you agree to:

  • Follow the laws that apply to your outreach — including anti-spam and email laws (like CAN-SPAM, CASL, and GDPR) wherever your recipients are.
  • Honor opt-outs and unsubscribe requests, and only contact people for legitimate business reasons.
  • Send from your own accounts, in your own name — not impersonate August or anyone else.
  • Not use August for anything illegal, deceptive, harassing, or harmful.

We give you a head start, not a free pass. You're the sender, so you're responsible for what you send and how often.

About the information we provide

August researches public sources and uses AI to assemble your report. We work hard to make it accurate and useful, but we can't promise every detail is perfect or current — people change roles, companies change, and the web isn't always right. Treat your report as a strong, well-researched starting point, and use your own judgment before you reach out.

What you can do with your reports

Your reports are yours to use for your own business outreach. Please don't resell, redistribute, or repackage them as your own lead-generation product. The August name, brand, site, and software remain ours.

Third-party services

August relies on services like Stripe, our email and hosting providers, and AI and data providers. Your use of August also involves their systems, and we're not responsible for things outside our control when those services have outages or issues. We pick partners we trust and expect them to do their part.

The legal necessities

August is provided "as is." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim warranties we haven't expressly made, and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses (like lost profits or missed deals). If we're ever found liable for something, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the three months before the issue. Some places don't allow these limits, so parts may not apply to you.

Ending things

You can stop using August anytime and cancel any subscription from your account or by emailing us. We may suspend or end access if someone misuses the service, breaks these terms, or puts others at risk. If we do, we'll be fair about it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as August evolves. If we make a significant change, we'll update the date above and, where it matters, let you know. Continuing to use August means you accept the updated terms.
